In December 2017, we decided to take #SmileWithoutWorms medical and welfare outreach to Umudike, Dikenafai, in Ideato South LGA of Imo State. As a team we were all looking forward to it..

Dikenafai is the Chibuike Chris Alagboso’s community. He had been our  friend for long and had been a part of the team from day 1. We decided to honour our team members by taking the outreach to their communities. We had carried out #SmileWithoutWorms2016 in Onyekachi Onumara’s community the previous year. It was our way of honouring their commitment to the vision by also blessing their communities. So this time it was Chibuike’s turn.

We raised money as usual that year and carried out the outreach. We bought and rented every single thing used in that community without the contribution of anyone from that community. We successfully pulled it off and felt fulfilled. One thing we didn’t realize was that we had sown a seed in that community that will bring us back.

3 years later, Chibuike calls to tell us there is this Reverend Father who wanted to host our team in his community. He was going to celebrate his 10th year anniversary priestly ordination. He had thought bringing free health care to his community would be a fulfilling way to celebrate it.

Rev. Fr. Stanley Ekwugha ended up donating the money that helped us cater for the medical mission part of the outreach.

Being our biggest donor for the year 2020, we decided to honor him for not just donating, but for having the heart to be a blessing to his community. This is one culture we will continue to do.

Dear Rev. Fr. Stanley, we want to thank you for partnering with us to make #SmileWithoutWorms2020 medical and welfare outreach a success. Thanks for hosting our team and making sure we had a comfortable environment to serve your community. You were an amazing host. We celebrate you as our partner of the year 2020.
