When we decided to carry out #SmileWithoutWorms Medical and Welfare Outreach in October 2020 at Inspire World International Foundation, we had an estimated budget of N3,000,000 ($7,937).

Fast forward to November 2020, we got a partner who invited us to take the outreach to his community. He made a donation of N1,200,000 ($3,166) to take care of the medical part of the outreach (but not the welfare part).

So we set out to raise funds, as has been our culture over the past 6 years, to cover the welfare part of the outreach. We embarked on a social media campaign. This was done through Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. As always you, our friends came through for us. We raised N469,000 ($1,237). In total, we were able to raise the sum of N1,669,000 ($4,403) for the outreach.

That’s not just all, we got a record breaking donation of clothes, shoes, wrappers (fabrics), bags, food items, etc., that was worth over N500,000 ($1,319), from Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Taraba, Jos, Enugu and Owerri. Men, women and children went home with lots of gift items for themselves and their families.

A total of 251 patients were seen, 92 children were given gift items and over 300 adults benefited from the welfare packages. We had enough medications, eyeglasses and gifts to give out to everyone. It was both quality and quantitative service delivery. We also had 41 medical and non-medical volunteers who gave their time and skill to serve the people.

We couldn’t have reached this number of people without your support and donations. We want to say a big thank you to everyone of you who contributed towards the success of the medical and welfare outreach. We made it happen people! Together we were able to achieve a lot and make a huge difference. God bless you.
