The Social Impact Innovation Fellowship Has Caused a Big Shift in My Perspective
Hi, I am Susan Sunnywali.
I am a counsellor and a mental health advocate. I grew up in an environment where most people are disregarded and most times seen as non-existent. An environment where there is little or no knowledge and awareness about mental health issues. This became my motivated. I needed to lend my voice about mental health issues so that people will become aware of them and know how to go about them. However, I’ve only been doing this through social media until I got the opportunity to be selected as one of the fellows in the Social Impact Innovation Fellowship.
In the Social Impact Innovation Fellowship, we’ve had a lot of great and vastly experienced minds come to teach us and share with us better ways to go about succeeding as social impact leaders.
So far I’ve gained a lot of insight that has created a big shift in perspective, in the way I do my advocacy work only on social media. Presently, I am working on how to move into the communities because each lesson makes me see loopholes as to why I shouldn’t become a mental health advocate only on social media. Therefore, I’d be launching out to the communities that truly need this knowledge.
Also, the Social Impact Innovation Fellowship has given me an opportunity to network. We happen to have great minds in this fellowship. To add to that, we also have the opportunity of networking with our amazing facilitators.
I’m truly grateful to Inspire World International Foundation for this opportunity because through it a lot of communities will gain from the knowledge I have acquired.
Thank you.
